We, Gretchen and I, only had a chance to taste the carrot apple cake and the strawberry. Of the two, I liked the carrot apple cake......"

When I received this email, I thought I was receiving the beginning of a novel. The words were written so eloquently. I could literally feel the emotion in this piece.

Try something new!

One of the best things about waking up today was knowing that I have the opportunity to try something new. Each new day that we are given is a day filled with endless possibilities and new opportunities. If you're like me, that is sometimes daunting because the unknown can be frightening, if you allow it to be. The truth, however, dictates that God's perfect love should cast out fear. That means that there is no reason to do anything but enjoy the new things that cross our paths each day!

Why not challenge yourself to try something new, and live you're best, most exciting, life?

I'll be starting with one of our new cupcake flavors. ;-)

Cupcake Fact #1

So, apparently, cupcakes have been around for over 200 years. The earliest mention of cupcakes dates back to the end of the 18th century. That means that Terri's Cakes is taking part in a long heritage of bringing people sweet satisfaction. As you might guess, the earliest "cupcakes" are noticeably different from what we eat today, but the point remains the same; single serve flavorful goodness from the baker's oven, straight to your door!

Timing is Everything

If I have learned anything as I have been on this journey, I have learned that Gods grace is immeasurable. When Gd told me to start this bakery, I had no idea what was on store for me. Yet, timing was everything. Timing *is* everything. 

My first customer became my baker. 

My UPS guy became my graphic designer. 

The family I used to babysit for became my contractor. 

My brothers god-Aunt became my landlord. 

My coworker introduced me to my business plan writer. 

The point here is simple, God puts people in your life at a certain time for a certain reason. It's not always black and white. We don't always know what the purpose is. All we can do is be grateful and gracious. We must stay humble and stand in expectancy. Be patient and know that he is God and His mercy endureth forever.

Tip of the Day

Today's tip: After you "perfect" a recipe, try adding different flavors to see what other new recipes you can finalize. 

A while back, I fell in live with a new strawberry cupcake recipe. As I was making apple pie the other day, I miscalculated the amount of filling I would need. Today, I substituted the strawberries for the apples. I might just have a new favorite flavor. 

As I am trying to be 100% raw, meaning: no preservatives, chemicals, processed, fake food - I have trouble with some flavors as a lot of recipes call for unreal foods. The joy I feel when I "master" a new fruit recipe is unmeasurable. 

Today, that happened. ❤
